Valve Gallery - Rare And Unusual Valves (4)

Valves: E1148 (VT-232), E1T, GC10.

Shown above is a Philco E1148, also coded VT-232  This was made by Philco in the U.S.A.  Makes use of two top caps.  Height of 89mm. Shown above is an E1T gradient counter from Mullard.  Upside down so the densely populated base may be seen, though the graduated display with numerals visible on the glass envelope can be seen. Florescent coating extended to indicate increasing numerical value.  Holland made, height of 83mm.

Shown above is another counter, this time the GC10.  This produces a series of dots that can be illuminated in sequence at varying speeds to continuously circle as movement.  Height of 103mm  I.O. base. Positioned as the viewer would see the device in equipment.  Would have been used in test or counting equipment, I seem to remember this example was a spare for a scaler.  U.K. manufactured.
